Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how LALACORN LLC, the data controller for ODAK, collects, uses, and protects your personal data. We comply with Türkiye’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and, where applicable, the EU/UK GDPR.

1Data we collect

Account & verification

Your mobile phone number and the one-time passcode (OTP) used to verify it.

Profile

Information you provide to build your profile: gender, age, height, city, profession, education, relationship intent, your preferences and dealbreakers, and your photos.

Compatibility test

Your compatibility test answers are reduced to compatibility dimensions used to inform curated suggestions. Some questions may reveal special-category data (for example, religious practice). We process such data only with your explicit consent, in line with KVKK art. 6 and GDPR art. 9. You may decline these questions.

Contacts (optional)

This feature is entirely optional: Only if you give permission do we access your contacts to avoid matching you with people you know and to ensure mutual privacy. Your contacts are never shared with anyone, used for ads, or used to send invitations on your behalf.

Usage & technical

Device information, app logs, and (later) push notification tokens, plus crash diagnostics collected through Sentry to keep the app stable.

Payments

Purchases are handled by the Apple App Store and Google Play. We receive confirmation of a purchase or subscription status, but never receive or store your card or banking data.

2How we use your data

• to verify your identity and operate your account;
• to let curators craft thoughtful, personalized introductions and compute compatibility;
• to enable matches and messaging between matched members;
• to keep the community safe (moderation, reports, blocking, fraud prevention);
• to maintain, secure, and improve the service and meet legal obligations.

3Legal bases

We process personal data on the bases of: performance of our contract with you; your explicit consent (special-category test answers and access to your contacts); our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement); and compliance with legal obligations. Under KVKK we rely on the corresponding grounds in art. 5 and, for special-category data, the explicit-consent ground in art. 6.

4Processors & sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract:

• Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery (CDN), and R2 object storage for photos and media;
• Sentry — crash and error diagnostics;
• Apple and Google — processing of in-app purchases and subscriptions.

We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5Retention & deletion

We keep your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, then delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period, except where longer retention is legally required or needed for legitimate safety and dispute-resolution purposes. You can delete your account at any time in the app; on deletion we remove or anonymize your data, subject to those exceptions. You may also request deletion by emailing hello@odakdate.com.

6Your rights

Under KVKK and GDPR you have the right to access your data; to rectify inaccurate data; to erasure; to data portability; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing). To exercise these rights, contact hello@odakdate.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority — in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK Kurumu).

7Children

ODAK is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if we learn that we have, we will delete it.

8International transfers

LALACORN LLC is established in the United States and acts as the data controller. Your data may therefore be processed in the United States and other countries where our processors operate. For transfers from Türkiye or the EU/UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards and your explicit consent where required, applying protections consistent with KVKK and GDPR.

9Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date below and, for material changes, notify you in the app where appropriate.
